Technical Sales Engineer

Job description

To sell instrumentation, automation and advanced solutions and to be a consulting business partner to customers to determine current and future needs. This position helps customers by providing the correct solutions to their problems; being a problem-solver, a trusted advisor, and a technical expert in applying our products; and being a liaison between the customer and the company. Moreover, people in the position build relationships and rapport with customers (they become more than just a point of contact); and also understand the customer’s business drivers.

Prime Responsibilities
Call on end user representatives such as engineers or other professional and technical personnel at commercial, industrial, and other establishments to provide solutions to customers and act as a trusted advisor in applying our products to their application needs.
Review specifications, application requirements, and other customer documents to develop and prepare cost estimation or projected increases in production from client’s use of proposed equipment or services.
Provide technical support to customers relating to use, operation, and maintenance of equipment.
Provide technology overviews and seminars to groups.
Develop and grow a territory by generating product sales.
Provide sales reports as needed..
Prepare monthly forecast of expected sales
Provide feedback to Sales Manager
Review Bookings Reports/Payment Reports and provide feedback to Sales Manager
Drawing upon a comprehensive technical knowledge in order to develop customer solutions and generate new business.
Assist in the generation of accurate and competitive sales proposals to meet the customers’ requirements.
Work efficiently and independently to accomplish company objectives
Continue to study technical and product-related material and practices provided in an effort to keep up-to-date with the latest technology.
Help to build close relations with customers and suppliers.
Qualify customer requests for quotation to ensure that a quote will meet the customers’ application and operational needs.
Prepare customer quotations that are on time, technically accurate, commercially verified, offering the best all-round solution.
Follow-up on quotations with customers as agreed with Outside Sales.
Develop and grow a territory by generating product sales.
Attend customer meetings as required, including customer site visits.
Ensure activities are carried out in line with agreed departmental KPIs.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Master Degree in Instrumentation & Industrial Automation Engineering or equivalent experience
2 years of related experience in a variety of sales environments, preferably a technical sales role
Fluent English and French language skills required
Proven ability to achieve sales targets and develop new business.
Excellent communication & organisational skills
Excellent negotiation skills
Must be self-motivated and possess strong communication skills.
